Our Mission

To promote an agreement with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal-Fire) and support from The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR) To continue our 95-year history of providing a summer camp for youth at the camp site in the

Las Posadas State Forrest.

We Value:

Investing in youth,

Respect for nature,

Healthy living,

and Civic youth engagement.

Las Posadas 4-H Camp is situated within the Las Posadas State Forest northeast of Saint Helena CA, near the community of Angwin in Napa County. Las Posadas 4-H Camp has been in existence for 95 years, and generations of youth from Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties have participated in educational youth camp experiences. The 4-H Summer Camp programs have educated over 100,000 young people ages 9 to19 from 1929 to 2019. The Las Posadas 4-H Camp Club, Inc. was chartered in 1958 as a 501(c)(3), and the governing board camp was recognized as a support group of the University of California (and approved to use the 4-H name and emblem), The main focus is to secure a lease for the 4-H camp facility and provide regular maintenance. This program has proven to be steward so the Las Posadas Forest for the last 95 years. Equally as important, the summer camp programs have assured that the language in the original deed was always followed, providing education in forestry, botany and kindred subjects. The 4-H Camp programs held at Las Posadas exposed thousands of campers to hours of formal nature instruction and land stewardship. Las Posadas is a unique classroom, the diversity within the forest is special, the easternmost range of costal redwoods are found within the park. In a short walk kids can learn about the redwood grove, riparian areas, forested areas of oak ,manzanita, many species of conifers and grasslands, and the variety of mammals, rodents, birds, and insects of each.

We are proven stewards of this land.
